THUNDER DEFAYETTE (she/he) is a multidisciplinary artist located in Kjipuktuk, Mi'kma'ki. As a creator, Thunder is drawn to art which challenges its audience and reflects the struggles we face in the present. Previous credits include set and lighting design for Anomaly Theatre’s Dead Man Walking (dir. Emma Lamont), and lighting design for the Fountain School of Performing Arts’s Everybody (dir. Severn Thompson) and Mr. Burns: A Post-Electric Play (dir. Dan Bray).

As a recently graduated student from Dalhousie University, Thunder has had experience in a variety of technical theatre's disciplines. Though her focus is on lighting and lighting design, she’s always eager to expand her horizons and grow more confident in any field where she’s given the opportunity.

Thunder's writing has been praised as "...unexpected and riveting" (-The Villains Theatre), and "beautiful and intriguing" (-Maika Branch, Playwrights Atlantic Resource Centre), and her work has been shortlisted for/awarded a variety of prizes throughout Atlantic Canada.
